The goal of Oaks Christian Online high school is to provide rigorous, college-prep 100% online courses. Our online high school students go on to their choice of four-year colleges. We offer high school students two tracks for graduation – an honors or standard diploma. Students who complete a standard diploma meet most college admissions requirements, including University of California schools. Honors diploma students go above and beyond, completing Honors and AP courses throughout their four years.
Our thriving full-time Oaks Christian Online Middle School students study four core academic online courses with the addition of our unique Jesus in Middle School (J.I.M.S) spiritual life class and a comprehensive visual arts course. Additionally, middle school students are allowed to select from our high school foreign language, math, and elective courses to customize their learning based on their academic ability and interest. Try doing that in a traditional public school!
Our comprehensive curriculum development process utilizes the talents of Christian Subject Matter Experts, from the Oaks Christian School main campus, our partner school faculty members, and outside education experts who write middle and high school courses inspired by the content, objectives, sequencing and rigor of Oaks Christian School.
In addition, our high school online courses follow the University of California guidelines including completing a self-assessment against the 52 online course standards from the National Standards for Quality (NSQ). Oaks Christian Online courses also track against national, state, Common Core, and Quality Matters guidelines.
While a large majority of our courses are written by Oaks Christian Online, some curriculum is supplemented with carefully selected offerings from outside providers like Florida Virtual School and eDynamic Learning that are adapted and enriched to meet Oaks Christian Online rigorous objectives and theological engagement.
Finally, the curriculum development process for all Oaks Christian Online’s courses includes a review of opportunities for theological engagement, increased interaction with the teacher – through live, weekly classes– and feedback about continuous course improvement. All Oaks Christian online high school courses are unique and meet the high standards of Oaks Christian School.
Advanced Placement (AP) courses prepare students to take an exam that can waive the requirement of or earn credit for an equivalent college course
